Presk, hailing from the depths of Amsterdam’s bass and electronica scene, is showing off his guts on this third instalment of Nuno dos Santos’ vinyl fuelled label Something Happening Somewhere. With title track ‘Babou’ setting the mood for the rest of the EP, it’s a telltale sign of how far the talented Presk has come in recent years.

As No.19 Music celebrates its fifth anniversary, Jonny White’s highly influential label looks to hotly tipped Mexican DJ/producer Louie Fresco for the label’s latest album release. It’s an accomplished and revealing debut album from an artist artist on the rise. Perhaps some of the best hours of music you are likely to hear this year.

#07. Luca Bachetti – OVO EP | Endless | Released |
The beautiful ambient ‘OVO’ was recorded in December 2013 and features Stefano Onorati, jazz musician and long time friend of Luca. The 15 minute opus was then finished in April 2014 and now sees its unveiling.

Having lived in Ibiza in Ibiza for 6 years it’s no surprise that drums are the core element to the Hauswerks sound. Intricate, warm and soulful, his grooves simply have a natural effect on dance floors. The release kicks off with title cut ‘Listen To Me’, an energy filled house track powered by cut-up vocals, driving toms and crowd recordings. The infectiously hooky sub, and saw wave bass sounds then run alongside rave style chord progressions to create a classic-meets-contemporary workout.

Life And Death have another winner on their hands with Turn Around, a creation by Stockholm-based Alexander Sjodin. If the original doesn’t already win you over, the Ame remix on the flip surely will. Already played countlessly by nearly every top DJ in the game over the last few months, this release will undoubtedly rise to the top of the charts from June 30th.

Following in the footsteps of sonic machine Ten Walls, Few Nolder is the next artist to grace the catalogue of the fresh Boso imprint. Delivering an EP that’s an emotionally charged trip across four driving electronic cuts, as powerful and original as you might expect from an artist who cut his teeth on Planet Mu, Few Nolder takes the listener through deep channels of wobbly bass, epic synth lines, kinetic percs and ethereal soundscapes.

Valencia’s Edu Imbernon continues his unwavering rise with yet another assured release, “Fading Dawn” – his second for Culprit. Despite his young age (Edu is not yet 25), the Valencia-based artist is an accomplished producer already, with recent remixes for The XX and Hot Natured under his belt and the likes of John Digweed and Maya Jane Coles as his champions.

Downtown Party Network, AKA Lithuanian duo Algirdas Miescionaitis and Mindaugas Lapinskis, already come with an excellent pedigree of disco licked tunes for quality imprints like Eskimo, Is It Balearic? Recordings and Dirt Crew. And so their debut appearance on Futureboogie seems like a most comfortable fit. The title track is an absolute banger that has you hooked to the filthy bass line within seconds.
