The Amsterdam Dance Event is just around the corner. There are a million and one great parties to look forward to, and uncountable DJ’s to check out. Some events, however, are more than great. You can feel it in your gut looking at the line-up, the location and opening hours. It’s one of those events where everything falls perfectly into place. Visionquest & One Records’ ADE Superpleasures are going to do just that!
Visionquest is the enigmatic dream-team founded by long-time friends Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves & Lee Curtiss. Four homeboys from Detroit, techno’s birthplace. Their godfathers Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson had a great impact on their musical styles, mixing many different genre’s and making it into a totally different sound. This new generation of young, talented producers followed in their idols’ footsteps by organizing amazing parties at the world’s most famous venues and releasing groundbreaking music on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound, Get Physical, Wolf+Lamb, Minus and of course their own imprint Visionquest.
One Records is a British imprint that is not to be reckoned with either. Founded in 2009 by Subb-an and Adam Shelton, One Records has a very clear mission: encapsulating the energy and dexterity of artists and crowds they have had their best experiences with. These experiences were gathered years ago at the raw, authentic underground parties the duo has hosted in the UK.
Together the labels will host ADE Superpleasures. The location is topnotch, an old warehouse outside the city centre of Amsterdam, reminiscent of how it all started back in the day in Detroit and Manchester. Visionquest and One Records have their own area where they will showcase their artists, resulting in a fingerlickin’ line up. The Detroit crew will be featuring Seth Troxler, the funkadelic Benoit & Sergio, Ryan Crosson & Shaun Reeves. At the One Records stage Subb-an and Adam Shelton will be breaking the house down along with John Dimas. Amsterdam is also well-represented, with William Kouam Djoko in the Visionquest corner and Boris Werner at One Records.
Co-founder Adam Shelton made a special mix for the event:
This is promising to be one of the essentials during ADE. It’s gonna rock and quite frankly we can’t wait another minute for this night to come.
