After 5 years, 2 critically acclaimed LP’s and countless hit singles & remixes, the infamous Canadian duo known as Art Department are announcing that Kenny Glasgow will be leaving the band. Glasgow will be going on to pursue goals as a solo artist, leaving Jonny White to continue to produce and perform as Art Department.
The former duo will continue a working relationship as they launch a new imprint together using the name of the highly successful Social Experiment brand, the moniker used for White’s No.19 Music label showcases worldwide.
Kenny Glasgow has also revealed plans for the release of a new full length album due out on No.19 Music later this year. This would be the follow up to Glasgow’s first LP, the much lauded “Taste For The Low Life” released in 2010 on the same imprint. The first Art Department project to be helmed by White alone will be “Fabric 82”, with the DJ mix compilation for the London club’s long-running series set to drop in June.
The duo state that they will continue to do a very limited number of special appearances together throughout 2015 and have already been in talks about a potential live show as a future project, but have decided to pursue individual goals in the interim.
As White and Glasgow look forward to the next chapter the pair are set to release a slew of high profile remixes of their recent full length LP “Natural Selection” which is set to include a who’s who of underground dance music talent including Jamie Jones, Guy Gerber, Martinez Brothers, DJ Tennis, Soul Clap and more.
