Saturday, 1 April sees Berlin’s renowned AVOTRE imprint stop by Amsterdam’s De Marktakentine with Santé, Sidney Charles, and Luuk van Dijk in tow.
Coming off the heals of AVOTRE’s recent compilation “House Lessons” (mixed by Santé), the label continues to go strength to strength, with a prolific release schedule, artist roster, and ever expanding international brand. Now, its founder, alongside seminal member Sidney Charles return to Amsterdam, a place they have always been well received, for a night of diversely curated imprint.
Musically, little needs to be said about the night’s artists but, for those who don’t know, Santé is the AVOTRE mastermind. A studio wizard and global DJ to boot, Santé emerged as part of a wave of new producers with a different cut to their electronic jib, interjecting character, charisma, soul, colour, humour and above all a sense of humanity over the ever popular template approach to production. Joining Santé, Sidney Charles is one of Resident Advisor‘s most charted artists with releases on 8bit, I Am A House Gangster, Moda Black, Off, VIVa, Kling Klong, SCI+TEC, Suara, Area Remote and (of course) AVOTRE. Rounding out the night will be Holland’s own Luuk van Dijk. Something of a wonder kid within the scene, Luuk has released on the likes of Food Inc and Roush, while boasting support from the likes of Marco Corola, Huxley, Felix Da Housecat, Darius Syrossian and Joris Voorn.
