Obviously, there are many great Berlin spots to find quality music, but yet none come on four wheels and freely roam the city.
That is, until THE GHOST came along. Housed in a 70s era Mercedes camper, the steel sided techno 4×4 comes fully equipped with listening stations and record crates. Founded by Berlin based, British DJs Josh Tweek and James Creed, the van finds itself mostly parked outside Club de Visionaire, while also following certain one offs and festival events like Ambient am Block B.
On, the advantages of the mobile record shop, Tweek told RA:
“From experience it can be quite frustrating frequenting a record shop and seeing the same tunes every visit. The limitations imposed by the size of our shop work nicely to combat this. We have space for about 1,200 tunes in The Ghost at one time, and we have a lock-up that holds far more. We empty the van every night and load up every morning, so it’s pretty easy to switch the crates up. The method is quite random, but that’s sort of the point”.
THE GHOST is also available for private appointments, which make the majority of its sales. You can follow their activity and find the latest locations HERE
