As we’re steaming toward the 19th of July, we will be uncovering some of the stages that you will be passing at Buiten Westen Festival. Topping today’s paragraph is NGHTDVSN, which in a short time span rose to a considerable standard in Amsterdam’s club scene.

Being run under two names and with two different ideologies NGHTDVSN or De Nachtdivisie follow a similar pattern of sound that is dedicated to a small or larger scale. At first they dedicated one Friday of the month in bringing love and bliss into Chicago Social Club with names like Adriatique, Digitaria, Mario Basanov or H.O.S.H. On the other side of things the NGHTDVSN idea follows a “back to the roots” idea where events are hosted in large open warehouses, focusing on the more raw side of dance music, located mainly amidst the outskirts of the city. Among NGHTDVSN’s booking, artists like Cassy, Tale Of Us, Seth Troxler or Joris Voorn darkened their purlieu doorstep. They’ve been working closely with 4D Sound in changing the environment of the clubbing scene offering clubbers an all-around experience.

This year, they are part of Buiten Westen Festival that will take place at Westerpark like its previous two editions, where they will bring about a line up that surely matches those of other festival organizations this summer. It’s an aphrodisiac of sound that will tingle our most dutiful senses and nerves. NGHTDVSN couldn’t have started their first collaboration on the festival better. They’ve showcased as a stage forefront none other than Kompakt Records owner Michael Mayer. One could write books on what Michael achieved over the past decades but most of you are familiar with his success as an artist as well as a label owner.

Sebastian Mullaert (or 1/2 of Minilogue) is the next big name that will hit the NGHTDVSN scene in Saturday. With their newly and last album ever released as Minilogue, Sebastian took on a solo path, but he still preserves the same musical style that kept us on our tip toes during their active career. Along the Swedish masterminds, another long-life artist that succeeds in getting under the skin of almost all electronic music genres is Roman Flügel. Producing music since the majority of us were still in diapers, Roman is a true ruler of blending musical styles and always avoiding the bandwagon of the day.

Among these heavyweights, the scene will be completed with Kompakt’s Aril Brikha or the french producer Rone, both of them wil bel performing a live set. The stage will be completed by two Amsterdam prominents: Terry Toner and Arjuna Schiks.
