An intriguing new sound arising from eastern shores of Europe got caught as our latest addition to the free download series. It comes from Bucharest, Romania by an artist that goes by the name Atapy. His intense new production ‘Vibra’ is up for your taking.
Since just five years ago, his career has been firmly on the rise with likes of M.A.N.D.Y., H.O.S.H., Ritchie Hawtin, Dubfire, Tom Budden, Djuma Soundsystem or the frech legend, Laurent Garnier, himself. The year of the rise for Arpi Takacs (aka Atapy) was 2011, starting with his previous key releases on his own Cimelde label and Get Physical, alongside his collaborations with (among others): Noir, Louisahhh!!! or Cari Golden, reworking The XX and the legendary Knight Rider theme (personally highly recommended to check that one out).
Quality, not quantity is claimed to be the aim of Atapy , and indeed his real is becoming more and more solid, with his tracks gaining depth and seriousness, distinctive to the Romanian artist. Such as one is one of his last tracks – Vibra. Ethereal and intriguingly uncomfortable, like a scene from a movie of Lars von Trier, this hypnotic track is rounded with the correct balance of all the elements, that lead you through a narrative with its opening, culmination and its close.
