Making a return to 2016 during ADE week on October 22nd is Dockyard Festival. The 12 hour long-festival marries Dutch industrial heritage with contemporary ADE partying, all going down at the abandoned shipyard setting of NDSM Werf.
The line up this year features returning favourites and new names from the worlds of deep house, tech house and techno – which includes Art Department and Christian Wünsch, Paco Osuna and Gaiser, Paul Ritch and Dubfire, Monika Kruse and Marco Bailey, The Advent & Industrialyzer, Johannes Heil and the cult favourites RPR Soundsystem, [a:apia:r], Oscar Mulero, Jonas Kopp b2b Pfirter and many more. It is taking place in the Werf – a former shipyard that has been converted into a cultural paradise for venues.
Alongside the festival’s big lineup, it offers a unique experience that come complete with organic food, spacious tents and thrilling light shows. As such, it is fair to say that Dockyard really has brought lots of international attention on this exciting area of the city having formerly been a cold and forgotten concrete paradise. Without them it would still be a place lost to history.
