The ADE madness is right around the corner, and there is one place where that madness will become more real than anywhere else in Amsterdam. From October 16 to 18, Thuishaven will open the doors to its Wintercircus season with an intense weekender featuring some of Thuishaven’s all time favourite artists and sweet surprises.

Wintercircus is celebrating its third anniversary already as the spin-off of the hugely succesful Thuishaven concept, which offered the perfect intimate festival experience for all those in for a dance or a chill-out sessions at the end of their weekend. To set forth the tradition, the organizers came up with a special winter version of the weekly event.

This year’s Wintercircus season opener expands over three days with a packed line-up that will attract house and techno lovers from all different tastes. On day 1, Friday the 16th, German label Monaberry, the house label founded by Super Flu, will have the honours to open up the main stage. Their label showcase will be hosted by the groovy German house duo themselves, together with solid contributors to the imprint like andhim, Hanne & Lore, Cascandy, Martin Waslewski and Viktor Talking Machine. The second stage is equally welcoming to quality music lovers, as the line up here will be just as seriously curated. Here you can expect Lexer, Sascha Braemer, Satori (LIVE), Mike Ravelli, Eelke Kleijn and Rodriguez jr (LIVE).

Day 2 will promise a magical day with extended sets by some key members of Weimar’s distinct techno label Giegling. The record label has made name around the world with exceptional releases that have given an entirely new spin on techno, always with a gloomy and dreamy undertone. Their monthly mixtapes too are attracting more and more traction from their growing fanbase. But it is the sets that the men from Giegling play that really make a lasting impact, in this case from Kettenkarrussel, Dwig (LIVE) and DJ Dustin. DJ Dustin, the label head, is known for his incredibly eclectic sets, switching from the label’s trademark techno to obscure italo records and classic house anthems. The second stage on Saturday will be an all-Dutch one, with house brethren Michel de Hey, Benny Rodrigues, GERD and Spaceandtime forming a nice sidestep from their neighbours on the main stage.

The final day of the opening weekender will see the welcoming of New York’s Objektivity crew, the house label run by Dennis Ferrer and André Hommen who will be headlining that day, are tagging along the great Anja Schneider, Dale Howard, Phil Weeks and a very, very special guest in the form of none other than Chicago house legend Marshall Jefferson. Germany’s 3000° Records are hosting the second circus that day. The Glitz is the main attraction here, a DJ duo that have set the German house scene on fire with their psychotic and hugely addictive DJ sets where they make ingenious use of breaks and drops, creating an incredible dynamic that is hard to ignore on the dance floor. Check out their set during Fusion festival 2015 to get an idea of what to expect.

All in all, the Wintercircus weekender is an event not to be missed due to its zealous programming and the promise of a party the way a party is supposed to be in the eyes of the organization: fun, crazy and a perfect setting to enjoy it all.
