Groningen’s club scene has been enriched as of last week with the opening of new night venue ‘Oost’, a club with a focus on house, techno and disco, and a wilful use of its event promotion on social media.
Located at the Oosterstraat in Groningen’s city centre, the venue, which has a 250 person capacity, opened April 1st with Delta Funktionen. The following day Rolando and Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorf were on the bill. That bill is brought to practice a little differently than in most clubs, as Oost only announces its Friday line ups a few days before, while the Saturday line up is kept a secret, serving to the type of crowd that likes to be surprised. Because visitors don’t know who’s playing, tickets come at a price of three to four euros.
This weekend Bambounou will be headlining, with support from resident Jorn and UNDELETE.
