For ADE 2016, Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum will no longer just house it’s famed Rembrandt and Vermeer masterworks, as on 21 October, Audio Obscura brings Maceo Plex (USA) to the museum’s world famous bike passage.

This will be the first time Rijksmuseum has collaborated with an electronic music artist in its rich history, very much matching the museum’s vision to let visitors experience art in exciting new ways. Despite its tradition as being a house of the Dutch Golden Age, music is also an important cornerstone to the museum, not only due to the large collection of instruments it houses, but also due to the prevalence of music throughout a large number of its paintings. In fact, Maceo Plex himself has visited the museum for ground-level musical inspiration, listening to unique recordings from its collection of classical instruments.

The event will be free of charge, with groups of 2-4 registering beforehand (deadline is 12am, 18 October), and will last from 7-11pm.
