Polish up your dancing shoes, because Nachtcollege is back in town, and not just Amsterdam. Starting this month, the event organization will be setting off multiple events next to their weekly club night in Utrecht’s ‘de Winkel van Sinkel’. One of the most anticipated of those is their XXL-size night at Central Studios on the 29th of May.
Nachtcollege started out as a modest event organizer in Amsterdam, where its roots are. After finding its place in the Amsterdam party scene – with a focus on fun, affordable nights out for the student crowd – the concept was exported to Utrecht. Since its beginning in late 2013, Nachtcollege’s Thursday nights at one of Utrecht’s hottest venues de Winkel van Sinkel have become given in the city’s nightlife. The selection of Dutch and international DJs have been getting feet of the floor with little effort. In the meanwhile the team behind Nachtcollege has been making more plans to conquer more ground in Holland. On the 22nd of this month for instance, the party will be expanding to Groningen, another student hub well suited for the nachtcollege parties. Huize Maas will be the venue where they will kick off their Northern debut.
A week after that, however, something big will be taking place in Utrecht: Nachtcollege XXL. Here the idea is the bigger the better. Their venue of choice Central Studios is the perfect location for a blow-out party of massive proportions, as we described here earlier this year. During this night an impressive line-up awaits the eager crowd, ranging from deep house to tech-house, with a pinch of G-house. Headlining will be Amine Edge & DANCE, the French-American duo that needs little introduction anymore. Also Robin Schulz will be entering the DJ booth, showing everybody why he’s in the top of the charts right now with his track ‘Waves’. Or what about British taste-maker and Hot Creations star Darius Syrossian, who will bedazzle Central Studios with his hard-hitting bass lines and sweeping melodies. Dutch artists will be representing as well, like Ici Sans Merci, who will be playing b2b with Prunk, or Illesnoise, who will be standing side by side with Bram Fidder.
Next to the XXL event, Nachtcollege is collaborating with other organizations for two festivals. The first is Monarck Festival (22 June), which will take place on a very unlikely playground: royal palace Soestdijk. During the second of the two-day event, Nachtcollege will host its own stage in the palace gardens. Second is INC Festival which will take place on the 5th of July. Here Nachtcollege will work together with Verknipt and Terug Naar Toen for a day of diverse music including everything in house to techno to hip hop and even to 70’s/80’s.
So to all those fun-loving but lazy students out there: dive into your books and give it all you got, cause it would be a pain to be studying for re-sits of your exams while all this goodness is going on around you..
