Today’s premiere is a special one. It is a creation by Stil Vor Talent founder Oliver Koletzki and his protege Niko Schwind. They have teamed up for a floor-focussed live-project: Koletzki & Schwind. To be released on Koletzki’s own Stil vor Talent, ‘She Wants Acid’, their maiden collaboration, takes no prisoners.
The two have worked together in the studio before, for instance on ‘Master Of Ceremony’ back in 2011. Only this time their sound has changed notably. The title-track of ‘She Wants Acid’ is crafted around a booming groove, Witch Doctor-style stabs, and a vocal loop, until the duo plunge into a deranged acid break-down accentuated by ominous UFO synths.
On ‘Fake-Return’, Koletzki & Schwind appropriate elements of trance, twisting them into a synth-led monster with growling sub bass. Lastly, jacking garage percussion and an old-school bass-lead drive ‘Sydney’, K&S’s homage to the golden age.
Having delved in to hip-hop, downbeat, or electro-pop with past solo productions, ‘She Wants Acid’ exemplifies one thing: Koletzki & Schwind are ready to party.
During DGTL Festival, Koletzki & Schwind will show their collaboration in full force as they will be playing live at Sunday’s (April) Audio Stage. They will share the stage that day with such artists as Oliver Schories, Joris Delacroix and Miss Melera.
